SAFETY FIRST

When should you get urgent medical help?

Warning signs depend on the treatment. Severe or persistent vomiting, inability to keep fluids down, severe abdominal pain, fainting, chest pain, breathing difficulty, allergic swelling, severe low-blood-sugar symptoms, new pregnancy or a marked mood change should not wait for a routine appointment.

  • Do not start, combine, stop or restart prescription treatment from online advice alone
  • Tell the clinician about every medicine, supplement, allergy and pregnancy plan
  • Use licensed providers and traceable medicines or devices
  • Ask for written instructions, follow-up timing and an after-hours plan
